Re: Project Plan

I like the underground lake, but I think we shouldn't have much if any over ground area, just enough for getting out and refilling our bar.  I also researched some caves as I was interested init, they are below, I was thinking we could merge a few ideas together otherwise we would not have a puzzle game as it would be too straight forward.

I agree with the project plan idea but how will we go about that, what would you like to have done before we get back to college in the beginning of October?


  • some concepts if not all e.g. cave concepts and maps, character sketches and plan for our puzzle, hud and gui.
  • water working, maybe not completely
  • health/air supply sorta working
  • story brief outline?

This may be our cave system as there are areas of no water where the player can get out of the water.
Unfortunately I cannot find a map for this cave system.
Temperatures can be below 0 degrees celsius in these caves

Project Plan

Yes I agree that we should start writing up a Project Plan, we should also break down the work. So far we kinda have, I'm working on the water and researching caves while your doing the character and health thing. So on that we have it covered. I think we should place a date in which we should have some work done. Not all the research or anything, but just the basic's so that we have some idea of what well need to fully do.

Now I've being researching both Under water caves and normal caves. This way I've being trying to get a over all idea of what cave types we should go with. I've also found an underground lake, so I was thinking we could go with a underground ice cave lake.

Lighting

In terms of the lighting question you asked:
I think the game should be third person, unfortunately this will mean animation but hopefully it will work this year.  Attached to her head will be a light but with some of the cave research I've done there is natural light.
I also don't think we should go to far ahead game wise without advice from our tutors.
We should focus on making a project plan, research and concept and I'll get the health to work.

Air supply

Been trying to get the air supply to work for our game.  Managed to figure out how to put the code together where to put it but I still have to make it work.  It's alot of toing and froing due to the fact UScript does not work in Flash and vice versa.

Character Wet suit Designs

These are just some initial concepts of our character, focusing on her wet suit.  Which ones do you prefer remember she will be diving in cold water but she must also be slightly ill equipped otherwise she would not get cold.

This one may also be made into shorts.
